Enterprise Spam Filtering Service
Email spam and viruses are serious problems that affect most organizations today. Managing and working to eliminate this problem presents a great challenge for any administrator. Spam Filtering Service provides excellent spam and virus filtering from a truly scalable approach. Intercepting spam and viruses allows for security weaknesses to be identified and the threat to be either reduced or eliminated. The Southwood Shared Resource Center (SSRC) provides this Spam service enabling mail to be thoroughly examined and filtered at a gateway level before it enters the customer’s internal email server in order to minimize the impact of spam and viruses on the destined recipient.
The Enterprise Spam Filtering Service provides email filtering services with connectivity to a customer owned and managed email server. The Enterprise Spam Filtering service allows access to the customer’s Exchange server through the SSRC Enterprise Spam Filtering solution. The SSRC will establish and configure the Spam Filtering service and provide the necessary Internet connectivity from the Spam Filtering service to the customer’s local Exchange server(s). This connection does not include customer communication connections, such as DSL or T-1 services.
To appropriately install and configure this Spam Filtering service, the customer will provide the following:
- Number of customer Exchange servers and associated IP addresses;
- Number of total mailboxes;
- All MX records for each domain;
- Any special requirements to be considered as white lists.
The customer will redirect DNS entries for mail server(s) or make the appropriate changes in the DNS.
The customer is solely responsible for the administration of their Exchange server.
